iPod. iPad. iPhone. And now presenting…iLove!
Whoa, wait a second…WHAT’S iLOVE?

Is there a user guide included? A 24-hour support group to call? Is there really such a thing?

Come join us at Marquette University, Sunday, February 12th as we explore and discuss true love in Islam at our seminar “iLove: An Afternoon Seminar Dedicated to Love and Marriage in Islam in Modern Times.”

We are honored to have both Shaykh Junaid Kharsany and Ustadha Aadilah shed light upon this popular and much discussed topic so that both men and women can benefit!

Don’t forget to register at www.ilmoasis.org.
We look forward to seeing you there inshaAllah!

“I participated in this before and I loved it. I remember going to an old lady’s house who lives alone, can barely walk, with a HUGE backyard full of leaves. I remember how grateful she was that we helped her, she made tea and cookies for us and couldn’t stop thanking us. I went home feeling so great about myself.” -MA’RUF Member

Project INK

MA’RUF has launched Project INK, dedicated to providing state institutions with Islamic books. With the rapid spread of Islam in US prisons, the lack of informational resources for inquiring non-Muslims, and the lack of resources to meet the needs of incarcerated Muslims, Ma’ruf has embarked on a goal to provide every library in each Wisconsin State Institution with three books:

The Holy Qur’an English Translation: Yusuf Ali
Riyadh As-Saliheen: An-Nawawi
A Brief Illustrated Guide to Understanding Islam and Muslims

This week we’ve provided eight Institutions with our book package and plan to continue throughout this summer. If you would like to sponsor a library package, donate $30 online at:

    Spit it out, Cuz!

“I feel ugly when I wear my scarf. I can tell that the guys arnt checking me out. They’re not interested in me because I cover. I’m still young and I don’t want to wear it anymore but no one understands.”

“I’m talking to this Muslim guy with the intention of marriage. We’ve grown very close these past few months. Sometimes we meet up at his house when no ones home. I’m 16 years old.”

“My kids are becoming American.”

“My son stays out till 2 or 3 am and when I ask him where he has been he says with his friends. I do not know who he hangs out with and I don’t trust that it’s always just his guy friends. He doesn’t talk to me about his personal life.”

These are some of the situations we face as Muslim teenagers, especially in a family of parents who migrated to the west from a Muslim country. MA’RUF is in the works of planning a major event to address the concerns of our youth as well as our parents… Yes, its Youth vs Parents..LIVE. A panel of youth will address a panel of parents on stage, and vice versa in a community talk show dialogue. The goal of the event is to get parents to understand the struggles facing us as youth and that in many cases, parents can often pose as an obstacle to the success of their kids.

In order to prepare for this event, we need YOUR help! If you are a Muslim teen and would like to discuss the issues and struggles you face anonymously (i.e. parents not understanding you, parents not trusting you, girls, boys, dating, drugs, etc), please share your thoughts and experiences below by commenting on this thread.

If you are a parent and would like to anonymously share the struggles of raising a Muslim teen in this day and age, please share your comments as well. We need your help to make this tallk show a success. Let your voice be heard. Let the dialogue begin…
